- Characteristics: It is a colorless prismatic or needle-shaped crystal. It is odorless, with a cool, salty, and bitter taste. The relative density is 2.65. It remains stable in humid air below 48°C, but effloresces easily in warm or hot air. It is easily soluble in water (119.8%, at 20°C) and glycerin, and slightly soluble in ethanol. The aqueous solution is neutral.
- Usage: In the food industry, it is used as a nutritional supplement, coagulant, flavor enhancer, processing aid, and brewing additive. As a nutritional supplement, it improves fermentation in brewing and enhances the taste of synthetic beverages (recommended usage: 0.002%). It can also be used to adjust water hardness.
- Packing: It is packed in a polyethylene inner bag, with a composite paper outer bag. The net weight of each bag is 25 kg.
